Own your future
Our culture isn’t something employees join, it’s something they build and shape. We believe that every person deserves to be heard and empowered. If you’re on the fence about whether you’re a fit, we say go for it. Let’s build something great together.
We’re looking for a hands-on Design Director who can lead teams, work directly with clients, and set a high bar for craft. This role combines client-facing strategy work, internal team leadership, and close collaboration with engineering. You’ll help shape what great design looks like across a wide variety of projects - while also mentoring leads and stepping in when designs need a critical eye or experienced hand.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design on client projects - from shaping the engagement and proposing the design approach, to guiding the team through execution.
- Coach and grow designers by giving actionable feedback, helping them manage teams, and pushing the quality of their output.
- Work closely with engineering leadership to ensure design and dev stay aligned - this includes setting shared processes, resolving handoff issues, and unblocking teams when needed.
- Help teams improve how they work - whether it’s introducing better critique rituals, tightening how we document decisions, or evolving our design system to support faster delivery.
- Uphold exceptional craft standards. Be the person people go to when something’s “almost there” and needs that final push. Sometimes that means giving feedback, sometimes it means jumping into Figma yourself.
- Represent design to client - whether it’s explaining why we’re doing what we’re doing, defending a direction, or facilitating a tough conversation when feedback is vague or contradictory.
Must haves
- Proven experience leading design teams in a services environment (agency, consultancy, or similar), with a strong track record of delivering high-quality work within real-world constraints.
- 2–3+ years as a Design Director or Head of Design, with demonstrated ability to manage both design talent and client relationships effectively.
- Strong product design portfolio, with shipped products that show both design excellence and clear rationale behind key decisions and trade-offs.
- Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills, with a history of building strong partnerships with engineers and product managers to align on shared goals.
- Effective and constructive feedback style, providing clarity and direction while encouraging high standards without micromanagement.
- Attention to operational detail, from file structure to documentation and flow updates—because you understand that strong process leads to faster, better work.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
