Role overview
As an Engineering Manager, you will drive strategic technical initiatives that revolutionize the clinical trials domain, helping bring life-changing medication to patients earlier, transforming patient care worldwide. Our work impacts thousands of clinical trials, millions of patients, and helps process billions of critical medical records. You will lead a distributed team across the US, EU, and India, aligning teams with business and technical strategy, coordinating architectural and technical decisions, and ensuring smooth, consistent engineering results.
Key responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Partner with product leadership to define and refine technical strategy.
- Drive technical decision-making and architectural choices.
- Ensure a strong understanding of product design, technologies, and architecture.
- Oversee the engineering team and coordinate multi-team technical initiatives.
- Lead test automation strategy and manage AQA engineers.
- Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Align work across geographically distributed teams.
- Promote adherence to best engineering practices and processes.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to support professional growth and effective delivery.
- Balance managerial responsibilities with hands-on contribution.
Must haves
- 10+ years of hands-on software and data engineering experience.
- 2+ years in engineering leadership or management.
- Experience with data engineering and large-scale distributed systems design.
- Proven ability to manage remote teams across multiple departments.
- Experience in building software engineering and QA processes.
- C# .NET / MS SQL Server experience for enterprise-scale applications.
- REST APIs, microservices architecture, and system integration.
- Deep experience with data architecture and complex data layer implementations
- Apache Flink, Apache Iceberg and Snowflake experience is a big plus
- DevOps practices, PowerShell automation, and experience with AWS-based deployments.
- Familiarity with React and modern frontend architectures.
- Ability to coordinate engineering work across regions and time zones.
- Strong technical foundation in backend, frontend, and data engineering.
- Skilled in aligning engineering execution with business priorities.
- Capable of building and maintaining disciplined engineering processes.
- Strong communication skills in cross-cultural environments.
