Must haves

  • 6–10+ years of experience as a UX/UI or Product Designer, with strong emphasis on UI quality and interaction design.
  • Proven ability to improve existing products rather than designing greenfield experiences.
  • Strong visual and UI judgment for forms, workflows, CTAs, hierarchy, and layout.
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams and iterating on live implementations.
  • Ability to explain why a design decision was made and what problem it solves.
  • Comfortable working across multiple projects with partial allocation.
  • Pragmatic mindset: optimizes for usability, convenience, and conversion over visual experimentation.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus.
  • BSc in Design, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing software embedded inside third-party platforms (e.g., banking, enterprise SaaS).
  • Familiarity with component libraries and design systems (e.g., MUI or similar).
  • Experience mentoring or leveling up junior designers through example and critique.

What this role is not

  • Not research-heavy or interview-driven.
  • Not focused on branding or radical visual redesigns.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate the design vision, strategy, and goals for the product, aligning them with the overall business objectives.
  • Assign and prioritize tasks, and ensure the team's skills and expertise are effectively utilized.
  • Conduct or oversee user research activities to gain a deep understanding of the target users, their needs, and pain points. Use insights from research to inform the design process and validate design decisions.
  • Lead the creation of intuitive and user-centered designs, ensuring they meet usability and accessibility standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as product managers and engineers, to translate requirements into effective design solutions.
  • Drive the iterative design process, from low-fidelity wireframes and prototypes to high-fidelity mockups. Solicit feedback, conduct usability tests, and iterate designs based on user insights and feedback.
  • Foster effective collaboration with stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, and executives. Clearly communicate design decisions, rationale, and trade-offs, and advocate for the value of design in achieving business goals.
  • Conduct usability testing sessions and gather user feedback throughout the design process to validate design decisions and identify areas for improvement. Analyze and synthesize feedback to inform design iterations.
  • Lead design reviews and critique sessions, providing constructive feedback to the design team. Encourage a culture of learning and growth within the team, promoting design excellence and innovation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, understanding their needs and effectively managing expectations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure.
