We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with hands-on experience implementing XBRL-based financial reporting standards — including deep understanding of taxonomies, primary notation elements, validation rules, and real-world reporting use cases.
In this role, you’ll help build and evolve modern, mission-critical software for a global leader in regulatory document management and compliance reporting, powering financial disclosures for some of the world’s most demanding organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend solutions in Java or .NET Core (C#).
- Collaborate with product managers and business analysts to translate client requirements into scalable technical designs, with a focus on XBRL-based reporting workflows.
- Contribute to system architecture, API design, and performance optimization efforts.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following engineering best practices.
- Support ongoing maintenance, scalability improvements, and feature enhancements of existing platforms.
Must haves:
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
- Proven experience working with XBRL taxonomies, reporting standards, and regulatory filings.
- Solid expertise in MSSQL (or equivalent relational DBs) — including data modeling, optimization, and query tuning.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles: code quality, unit testing, debugging, and peer code reviews.
- Ability to navigate complex business domains and propose practical technical solutions.
Nice to have:
- Exposure to front-end technologies such as React.js or similar frameworks.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and scalable cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with microservices design patterns, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
