We are looking for an experienced Web Accessibility Software Engineer to help modernize existing products and ensure they meet the highest accessibility standards. These products support educational institutions, teachers, parents, and students in managing and streamlining the learning process. Your work will directly improve usability for individuals with diverse accessibility needs.

Must haves

  • 5+ years of experience in Frontend Engineering and hands-on Web Accessibility implementation.
  • Strong JavaScript / TypeScript experience.
  • Expert-level HTML5/CSS3 and a deep understanding of semantic structure, landmarks, roles, and ARIA.
  • Practical experience applying WCAG 2.1 AA, ARIA Authoring Practices, and browser/AT interoperability rules.
  • Experience performing and fixing accessibility issues on production websites, including:
       * Keyboard navigation
       * Focus management
       * Screen reader behavior
       * Color contrast
       * Accessible forms and interactive components
  • Familiarity with browser DevTools accessibility tree and debugging techniques.
  • Experience with automated accessibility tools (axe-core, Lighthouse, WAVE, Pa11y, etc.).
  • Upper-Intermediate+ English and the ability to communicate effectively with international teams.

Nice to have

  • React.js or other modern JS frameworks.
  • Familiarity with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver).
  • Experience working with large-scale CMS-driven websites.
  • Experience with automated test suites for accessibility (Cypress + axe, Playwright + axe, etc.).
  • Any Accessibility certification (CPACC, WAS, WAS-A).
  • API or scripting experience (Node.js, Python, etc.) for automating accessibility checks.
  • Experience integrating a11y tooling into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience preparing Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACR) or VPAT documentation.

Key responsibilities

  • Modernize existing products with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusive user experiences.
  • Partner with customer design and development teams to ensure the platform is fully accessible to users with diverse needs.
  • Conduct accessibility audits using a mix of automated tools and manual testing methods.
  • Document accessibility findings with clear action items, examples, and references for engineering and QA teams.
  • Perform accessibility pre-scans and manual reviews of homepages, internal pages, and style guides, providing thorough notes for delivery teams.
  • Support implementation and ongoing maintenance of accessibility tools such as AudioEye, including organizing and presenting reports for clients.
  • Contribute to internal accessibility documentation and knowledge bases to promote consistency and reduce repetitive inquiries across teams.
