Medidata, a Dassault Systèmes company

Digitally transforming life sciences through one holistic user experience.

Project

For more than 20 years, Medidata has been powering smarter treatments and healthier people. Today, Medidata leads the digital transformation of life sciences, creating hope for millions of patients. They help generate the evidence and insights to help pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device and diagnostics companies—as well as academic researchers—accelerate value, minimize risk and optimize outcomes.
Medidata, a Dassault Systèmes company, is headquartered in New York City and has offices around the world to meet the needs of its customers.

With the industry’s most comprehensive end-to-end clinical development platform with more than one million registered users, Medidata desired to unify all stakeholder experiences within their suite of capabilities. Many of the users utilize several products within the portfolio, and the goal was to take a human-centered approach, map out user journeys and then design and implement a unified experience. Having experience in creating and implementing design systems, Transcenda was well-positioned to help Medidata achieve their business goals.

Takeaways & results

One of the largest challenges was determining the best approach to roll out the new design system, ensure adoption of the solution and help ensure a self-serve model is utilized, whereby engineering teams are empowered to use the system as they develop new features.

This effort required system implementation, training, support for engineers using the new system and adoption consulting to ensure the system reaches its fullest potential.
Improved end-to-end user experience
Smoother onboarding process for new customers
Enriched experience for existing customers, allowing them to utilize the whole feature set
Shift to a self-serve model that accelerates engineering deliverables
